Menace Ruine

Biography

Formed by S and Geneviève, the Menace Ruine cult began in 2006 in the wastelands of Quebec, Canada. The band released its first demo of harsh, dissonant, black metal In Vulva Infernum on underground label Tour-de-Garde in 2008. Later in the same year, the underground scene was devastated by the blazing intensity and sheer madness of Cult of Ruins. After having received much praise in underground circles, Menace Ruine returned with The Die is Cast, a profoundly occult album based around the vocal style of Geneviève and the anathemic medieval music that touches more upon Neo-Folk and Darkwave than Black Metal.

In 2009, Transcendental released both Menace Ruine albums in a Deluxe Gatefold LP format, The Die is Cast featuring a bonus DVD with the video done for the song Utterly Destitute.

The following year, the duo came out with yet another haunting release of haunting bliss, Union of Irreconciliables, this time on Aurora Borealis.

The band continues to perform at various venues in Montreal and elsewhere to spread their sonic venom. A small European tour is scheduled in April of 2011 as well as an appearance at the Roadburn Festival. Check the 'Upcoming Shows' section for more information.

To the glory of the Cult!
